About Mrs. Bligh

Happy Hello,

My name is Lauren Bligh, I am an inclusion/special education teacher at Moody High School.  This is my third year at Moody and I have never been happier. My first year in St. Clair County Schools, I was hired as a long-term substitute teacher for Marine Biology, Chemistry and Physics at St. Clair County High School.  From December to May at St Clair County High School, I fell in love with this community.  When the teacher returned, I continued to sub at the Eden Career Technical Center as the ROTC teacher.  I continued to see a trend across St Clair County Schools.  In this community, I was shown support, appreciation and love.  I would go home and tell my husband that it was a paradise for teachers, compared to my past experiences.  When I saw an opening for a Special Education teacher at Moody High School, I literally hit my knees in prayer that I would be chosen for an interview and selected for the job.  I was eager to have the opportunity to work at Moody High School as a full time teacher in the area I love the most, special education.  I can honestly say that my first year at Moody High School was filled with some of the best times in my teaching career.

I am happily married to Ron Bligh, and we welcomed our first born son into the world on June 4, 2013.  When I interviewed with Ms. Kuyk, my son was only 2 weeks old.  It is hard to believe that he is now walking, talking and almost in 3T clothing.  He has brought more joy to our lives than I ever thought was possible.  My husband is also a teacher and coach at Minor High School.  For the past 7 years he has been the Defensive Cordinator for Varsity Football, Head Coach of Varsity Wrestling, Head and Assistant Coach for Varsity Baseball.  To say the least we lived and breathed sports year round. Thankfully, he decided to drop football this year and spend time watching his son grow.  There is no comparison to having daddy home right after school everyday.
