Purpose

The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica de Escuela Superior de Moody is a national honor society that recognizes high academic achievement in Spanish by students in secondary schools, and promotes a continuity of interest in Hispanic studies. It establishes a core of students as leaders and models, especially for beginning Spanish students. Members are expected to volunteer hours after school. Members are inducted in the spring of each year.

Qualifications for Membership

  1. Students must show academic integrity, comply with code of conduct attendance, show positive attitude, and character as noted by no recorded incidents of cheating, plagiarism, misconduct, insubordination or intentional dishonesty.
  2. Student must currently be enrolled in Spanish II and have completed Spanish I.
  3. Student must have completed 3 Spanish semesters with a 90% cumulative average.
  4. Grades in classes other than Spanish are important as well. Student must maintain an 85% commulative average in all 4 core courses.
